A Manifesto
I believe in finding joy and magic in everyday moments.
In bare feet on garden paths.
In the quiet presence of nature and the peace it brings.
I believe homes are meant to be lived in —
filled with movement, laughter, and little feet running free.
Spaces shaped by love, curiosity, and a fearless sense of wonder.
I believe in blank canvases and the freedom to create.
In honoring craftsmanship, imagination, and intuition.
In design that feels warm, thoughtful, and deeply personal.
This is a love letter to lived-in beauty.
To intentional homes.
To creating not for perfection —
but for peace.
About Sally
Hi, I’m Sally.
A home and lifestyle writer with a lifelong love of interior design and thoughtful living.
My first experience decorating a space happened when I was nine years old, when my mom gave me free rein (and a modest budget) to redesign my bedroom. If you ask her, though, she’ll tell you I’ve been designing and pulling materials together since before I could talk.
As a child, I spent my free time sketching homes, reimagining interiors, and pouring over catalogs — drawn to spaces that felt modern, yet, warm, intentional, and lived in.
Today, I’m a mother of four, living in a 1960s mid-century modern home and focused on creating a space that feels calm, organized, and inviting. Through House of Carpenters, I share lessons in making a home feel intentional, ideas rooted in timeless interior design and Feng Shui principals, and inspiration to help you create a space that feels personal, grounded, and truly yours.
